Old Movies: Party of Jive
Genre:
Comedy
Production Company: None
Premise: A public service announcement
that makes known the evils of drugs and alcohol. Martin is invited to a party.
His parents are weary to allow him to attend, fearing that Butch, a troublesome
teen from Martin's class may bring drugs to the party. Their suspicians are
confirmed, but Martin, fearing illegal substances like the plague, locks himself
in the bathroom until morning. The crazy mishaps that befall his fellow partygoers
are sure to liven up the stiffest of crowds.
Background:
Shot in Jeff's house over the course of two days. The days can be recognized
as seperate because everyone's clothing changed except Jon's. Because the group
was short a few actors, Patrick and Alex had to play multiple roles. This was
the first project where footage from other films was spliced into a project.
It was entirely in-camera editing. Patrick wrote a 14 page script which was
followed for two and a half pages and mysteriously abandoned. An argument on
set resulted in one actor leaving before the closing credits were shot and a
yearbook photo had to substitute Alex's presence. It was voted best film by
Mr. Wilson's health class.
